EGR Cooler: Service and Repair
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler - 6.0L Diesel
Removal
1. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Engine.
2. Remove the EGR cooler bolt and stud bolt.
3. NOTE: Use care when removing the EGR cooler not to lose the grommets or spacer.
Remove the bolt and the EGR cooler.
4. Remove and discard the gasket and O-ring seal.
Installation
1. Install the new O-ring seal and gasket.
2. NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal.
NOTE: Position the grommets and spacer prior to installing the EGR cooler.
Install the EGR cooler and stud bolt and bolt hand-tight.
3. Install the EGR cooler bolt.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
4. Tighten the EGR cooler stud bolt and bolt.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
5. Install the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Engine.
