Removal

NOTE: Prior to removal of the Instrument Cluster (IC), it is necessary to download the IC configuration information to the diagnostic tool. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

NOTE: If installing a new IC, all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.

1. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Restraint Systems.

2. Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.

3. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.

4. Remove the 4 screws and the IC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1. Position the IC in the instrument panel, connect the electrical connector and install the screws.

2. Install the instrument cluster finish panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.

3. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Restraint Systems.

4. Following installation of the IC, download the module configuration information and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from the scan tool into the new IC. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

5. NOTE: If the IC is installed new, updated, or re-configured, the IC requires a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the Instrument Cluster (IC) may result in a no start condition. Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)
