Grille: Service and Repair
Radiator Grille Support
1. Remove the front bumper. For additional information, refer to Bumper.
2. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumper.
3. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplement Restraint System Depower and Repower in Restraint Systems.
4. Remove the front LH and RH SRS impact sensor bolt and position the sensor and harness aside.
5. Remove the 2 hood release bolts.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
6. Release the hood cable retainers from the radiator grille support and position the hood release and cable aside.
7. Disconnect the horn wiring connector.
8. Remove the ambient air sensor retainer from the radiator grille support and position the sensor and harness aside.
9. Remove the horn bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
10. Remove the 4 Smart Junction Box (SJB) bolts and position the SJB inward.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
11. Remove the 2 coolant module bolts-to-radiator from the rear of the grille support.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
12. Remove the 6 radiator grille support bolts (3 each side).
- To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
13. NOTE: It will be necessary to lift the cooling module upward and slide the radiator support forward to separate the radiator grille support from the cooling module.
Remove the radiator grille support.
14. NOTE: Inspect all of the radiator grille support insulters. Replace as necessary.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer all necessary components.
- Repower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplement Restraint System Depower and Repower in Restraint Systems.
