Exterior Mirror Glass
Removal
NOTE: The power folding mirrors may need to be synchronized anytime the mirrors are folded or unfolded without using the exterior mirror control switch, or if a new power folding mirror is installed. For additional information, refer to Exterior Mirror Motor Synchronization - Power Folding Programming and Relearning.
1. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full upward and inboard position and insert a thin flat-blade screwdriver.
2. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: LH mirror and motor shown removed from the housing and from the back to show location of clips and placement of screwdriver.
NOTE: Aero mirror shown, trailer tow mirror similar.
Using the thin flat-blade screwdriver, release the tabs starting at the lower outboard side of the exterior mirror and continue to the lower inboard side and remove the exterior mirror glass.
Installation
1. NOTE: Trailer tow mirror shown. On the aero mirror, the dampener springs attach to the back of the glass.
NOTE: Make sure the exterior mirror motor is centered during installation.
Install the exterior mirror glass dampener springs into the dampener spring tracks.
2. If equipped, connect the electrical connectors.
3. Position the exterior mirror glass on the mirror motor.
4. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Place a hand against the back of the exterior mirror housing and a hand flat against the exterior mirror glass. Press the mirror glass in place until it is fully seated.
