NOTE: Eight-foot styleside pickup bed shown, all other styleside similar.

Removal and Installation

1. If equipped, remove the bed liner.

2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

3. Remove the rear bumper. For additional information, refer to Bumper.

4. Remove the fuel filler pipe. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

5. Remove the wiring harness ground bolt located on the frame cross member, just above the spare tire.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





6. Disconnect the main tail lamp connector. If equipped, disconnect the reverse parking aid harness connector and the reverse camera wiring harness.





7. Disconnect the license lamp connectors.





8. Remove the axle vent tube clip from the pickup bed floor crossmember and position the tube to the side.

9. If equipped, remove the 2 upper bolts from the side step bracket-to-bed.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).





10. If equipped, loosen the lower side step bracket-to-step bolt and position the bracket so it will rest on the step housing.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).





11. NOTE: The pickup bed bolts are one-time-use only. Install new bolts whenever the bolts are removed.

NOTE: All 8-foot pickup beds will have 8 bolts; all others will have 6 bolts.

Remove and discard the 8 pickup box bolts.

- To install, tighten the new bolts to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

12. NOTE: New attachment clips must be installed whenever the pickup box is removed. All 8-foot pickup beds will have 8 attachment clips; all others will have 6 attachment clips.

Install new attachment clips before reinstalling the pickup box.





13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
