Front Door: Service and Repair




Door - Front

NOTE: Right side shown, left side similar.











Removal and Installation

All vehicles

1. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Restraint Systems.

2. Open the front door and support as needed.

Vehicles not equipped with an A-pillar electrical connector

3. Remove the door speaker. For additional information, refer to Accessories and Optional Equipment.

4. Remove the armrest backing screw and remove the armrest backing.





5. Remove the armrest bracket bolts and remove the bracket.





6. Pull outward to release the water shield adhesive and remove the water shield.

7. Pull outward to release the sail panel water shield adhesive and remove the sail panel water shield.

8. Pull outward to release the wiring harness retainers.





9. Disconnect the keyless entry and door lock electrical connectors.

10. Disconnect the mirror electrical connectors.

11. Disconnect the side impact sensor electrical connector.

12. Route the wiring harness through the door.

Vehicles equipped with an A-pillar electrical connector

13. Disconnect the front door A-pillar electrical connector.

All vehicles

NOTICE: The following steps require the aid of an assistant. Failure to follow this direction may result in damage to the vehicle.

14. Remove the lower front door hinge-to-door nut and bolt.
- To install, tighten the bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

- To install, tighten the nut to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

15. Remove the upper front door hinge-to-door nut and bolt and remove the front door.
- To install, tighten the bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

- To install, tighten the nut to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

16. NOTICE: To minimize the possibility of cross threading, hand-start all fasteners during the installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- If installing a new front door, transfer parts as necessary.

17. Adjust the front door. For additional information, refer to Door Alignment - Front Adjustments.
