Removal

NOTE: If installing a new Instrument Cluster (IC), all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.

1. If installing a new IC, upload the IC configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

2. Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.

3. If equipped with a column shift, apply the parking brake and lower the gear shift to the lowest gear.

4. Remove the 2 screws and the IC center finish panel.

5. Remove the 4 screws and the IC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1. Position the IC, connect the electrical connector and install the 4 screws.

2. Install the IC finish panel and the 2 screws.

3. If installing a new IC, download the IC configuration information from the scan tool into the new IC. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in Information Bus. Programming and Relearning

4. NOTE: If a new IC is installed, the IC and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the IC and the PCM may result in a no start condition.

NOTE: If equipped, the vehicles Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys must be programmed to the new IC.
