Instrument Cluster (IC)
Instrument Cluster (IC)
Removal
NOTE: If installing a new Instrument Cluster (IC), all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.
1. If installing a new IC, upload the IC configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.
2. Remove the upper instrument panel center finish panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.
3. If equipped with an automatic transmission, apply the parking brake and place the selector level in one of the low ranges.
4. Lower the steering wheel tilt adjustment to the lowest position.
5. Pull the lower instrument panel steering column cover out to release the retaining clips and remove the cover.
6. Remove the 4 screws and the IC finish panel.
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Remove the 2 screws and the IC.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Installation
1. Position the IC in the instrument panel, connect the electrical connector and install the 2 screws.
2. If equipped, connect the electrical connectors, position the IC finish panel and install the 4 screws.
3. Install the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
4. If equipped with an automatic transmission, place the selector level in PARK (P).
5. Install the upper instrument panel center finish panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.
6. If installing a new IC, download the IC configuration information from the scan tool into the new IC. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in Information Bus. Programming and Relearning
7. NOTE: If a new IC is installed, the IC and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the IC and the PCM may result in a no start condition. Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset
NOTE: If equipped, the vehicle's Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys must be programmed to the new IC.
If installing a new IC, carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. Programming and Relearning
