Pinpoint Test F: The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

The accessory delay relay is located in the Smart Junction Box (SJB). When the key is turned on, the SJB activates the accessory delay relay by grounding the relay coil. When the key is turned off, the SJB continues to ground the accessory delay relay coil for approximately 10 minutes, or until a front door is opened. When the accessory delay relay is active, power is sent to the power window system, power sliding window (if equipped), audio system, roof opening panel (if equipped), family entertainment system (if equipped), Satellite Digital Audio Receiver System (SDARS) (if equipped) and electrochromatic mirror (if equipped).

- DTC B1302 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Failure) - Sets when an open or short to ground is detected on the relay control circuit.
- DTC B1304 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Short To Battery) - Sets when a short to voltage is detected on the relay control circuit.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Accessory delay relay
- SJB

PINPOINT TEST F: THE DELAYED ACCESSORY IS INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

-------------------------------------------------
F1 CHECK FOR CORRECT OPERATION OF THE DOOR AJAR SWITCHES

- Open and close the LH and RH doors and verify the interior lights turn on when the doors are open, and off when the doors are closed.
- Do the interior lights operate correctly?

Yes
GO to F2.

No
REFER to Lighting and Horns to diagnose the interior light concern.

-------------------------------------------------
F2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.

- Did the relay pass the component test?

Yes
GO to F3.

No
INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
F3 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU) FOR AN OPEN

- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504A (Crew Cab) or C535 (regular and SuperCab).
- Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504A-2 (Crew Cab) or C535-7 (regular and SuperCab), circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and SJB C2280D-32, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
VERIFY SJB circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, GO to F4.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
F4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION

- Disconnect all SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- Connect all SJB connectors and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new SJB. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
