Exterior Mirror Glass - Aero
Removal
1. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full upward position.
2. Lift the outboard lower edge of the mirror glass outward and carefully remove it from the mirror housing.
Installation
1. Position the tabs on the edges of the jackpin balls so they align with the key slots in the sockets on the back of the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
- Rotate the tab on the upper jackpin ball so that it is in the vertical position, pointing upward.
- Rotate the tab on the lower jackpin ball so that it is in the horizontal position, pointing away from the vehicle.
2. NOTE: If the jackpins do not engage, they may not be aligned correctly.
Position the locating tabs, on the jackpin balls, with the slots in the sockets on the back of the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
3. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTICE: The exterior mirror glass can break if pressure is not applied directly over the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
Using a flat hand, press on the center of the mirror glass until seated on the center pivot of the mirror housing.
- Tilt the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly to the full upward position and then press the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly until the upper jackpin snaps into the socket on the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
- Tilt the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly to the full outward position and then press on the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly until the lower jackpin snaps into the socket on the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
