Pinpoint Test A: A Single Power Window is Inoperative - Power Sliding Window

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

The accessory delay relay provides power to the power sliding window switch through circuit CBP47 (GN/BU). Ground is provided to the switch through circuit GD115 (BK/GY). The power sliding window switch transfers power to the power sliding window motor through circuit CPW58 (YE/OG) and ground through circuit CPW59 (VT/BN) to operate the power sliding window to the OPEN position. When moving the power sliding window to the CLOSED position, the power sliding window switch transfers power to the power sliding window motor through circuit CPW59 (VT/BN) and ground through circuit CPW58 (YE/OG).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Circuit breaker
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Power sliding window switch
- Power sliding rear window motor

PINPOINT TEST A: A SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - POWER SLIDING WINDOW

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

-------------------------------------------------
A1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE POWER SLIDING WINDOW SWITCH

- Disconnect: Power Sliding Window Switch C2060.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between power sliding window switch C2060-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to A2.

No
VERIFY Smart Junction Box (SJB) circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. Diagrams By Number

-------------------------------------------------
A2 CHECK GROUND TO THE POWER SLIDING WINDOW SWITCH

- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance between power sliding window switch C2060-1, circuit GD115 (BK/GY), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
GO to A3.

No
REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
A3 CHECK THE POWER SLIDING WINDOW SWITCH

- Ignition ON.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between power sliding window switch C2060-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU) and C2060-2, circuit CPW58 (YE/OG), harness side; and between power sliding window switch C2060-5, circuit CPW59 (VT/BN) and C2060-1, circuit GD115 (BK/GY), harness side. The power sliding window should open.

- Connect a fused jumper wire between power sliding window switch C2060-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU) and C2060-5, circuit CPW59 (VT/BN), harness side; and between power sliding window switch C2060-2, circuit CPW58 (YE/OG) and C2060-1, circuit GD115 (BK/GY), harness side. The power sliding window should close.

- Did the power sliding window open and close?

Yes
INSTALL a new power sliding window switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to A4.

-------------------------------------------------
A4 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW58 (YE/OG) AND CPW59 (VT/BN) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Power Sliding Window Motor C301.
- Measure the resistance between power sliding window motor C301, harness side and power sliding window switch C2060, harness side using the following chart:

- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new rear window motor. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
