Functional Components
The functional components of the audio system (and their locations) are as follows:
- Audio unit
- Speakers (see Speaker Configurations for locations)
- AM/FM antenna
- AM/FM antenna cable
- Satellite radio antenna (if equipped)
- Satellite radio antenna cable (if equipped)
- Satellite Digital Audio Receiver System (SDARS) module, located behind the RH side of the instrument panel (if equipped)
- Audio input jack
Audio Line-Up
The following audio systems are available:
- Base
- AM/FM audio unit
- Two speakers
- Single CD
- AM/FM/CD audio unit with MP3
- Four speakers
- Premium
- AM/FM 6-CD in-dash CD changer with MP3
- Four speakers
In addition, the following option is available:
- Satellite audio
- Available as an option with all audio units except the AM/FM base audio unit
- Provides satellite-broadcast reception
All vehicles except the AM/FM base audio have an audio input jack, which can be used to connect a portable MP3 device to the vehicle. When connected, the audio files from the MP3 player can be broadcast through the vehicle speakers.
Antenna
All vehicles come with a fixed mast antenna. The antenna system consists of:
- Antenna mast
- Antenna base
- Antenna cable
The optional satellite audio antenna system consists of:
- Satellite radio antenna
- Satellite radio antenna cable
Speaker Configurations
The following speaker configurations are available:
- Base audio
- Two front door speakers
- Single CD, CD6
- Two front door speakers
- Two rear door speakers (SuperCab)
- Two quarter panel speakers (Regular Cab)
Audio Unit Shipment Mode
Before removing any CD6 audio unit, it must be placed in shipment mode (also known as parking). For additional information, refer to Audio Unit Shipment Mode Audio Unit Shipment Mode.
