Seat Cushion Cover - Front

Removal

NOTE: To install a new Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system service kit, refer to Occupant Classification Sensor procedure in Restraint Systems.

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Front Seat - Exploded View, Front.

1. Remove the seat backrest assembly. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent or Seat Backrest - Front, 60 Percent Seat Backrest - Front, 60 Percent.

2. Remove the 4 cushion frame bolts and separate the seat track and cushion frame.
- Release any remaining wire harness retainers.
- Note the wire harness routing for correct installation.

3. NOTICE: Passenger seats with an Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) service kit installed will have the OCS bladder attached to the seat cushion foam pad. DO NOT separate the OCS bladder from the seat cushion foam pad. Failure to follow this instruction may result in incorrect operation of the OCS system and system failure.

Release the remaining cushion cover J-clips.
- For 60 percent seat, release the side foam pad retainer strap.

4. Remove all the hog rings and cushion cover.





Installation

1. NOTICE: For passenger seat, inspect the seat cushion pad and seat cushion cover for any foreign objects before installing the seat cushion cover to the foam pad. If any foreign objects are found, remove them. Failure to follow these instructions may result in incorrect operation of the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system and system failure.

Position the cushion cover to the foam pad and install all the hog rings.

2. Fasten all but the rear cushion cover J-clip.
- For 60 percent seat, fasten the side foam pad retainer strap.

3. Install the cushion frame and 4 bolts to the seat track.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

- Correctly install the wire harness as noted in removal.

4. Install the seat backrest. If a passenger seat has been serviced, do not prove out the SRS at this time. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent or Seat Backrest - Front, 60 Percent Seat Backrest - Front, 60 Percent.

5. For passenger seat, carry out the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset. For additional information, refer to the General Procedures portion of Restraint Systems.
