Seat Cushion - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent
Seat Cushion - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent
Disassembly
NOTE: Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system components (seat cushion foam pad, bladder with pressure sensor and Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM)) are calibrated to each other and are serviced as an assembly. The OCS system components are not to be installed separately. If a new OCS system, OCS system component or seat cushion foam pad are needed, a new OCS system service kit (seat cushion foam pad, bladder with pressure sensor, OCSM and seat wiring harness) must be installed as an assembly.
NOTE: To identify between a production OCS system and an OCS system service kit, inspect the OCSM electrical connector.
A production OCS system allows the disconnection of the OCSM electrical connector.
An OCS system service kit has the electrical connector glued to the module, it cannot and should not be disconnected or altered.
NOTE: To install a new OCS system service kit, refer to Occupant Classification Sensor procedure in Restraint Systems.
NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Front Seat - Exploded View, Front.
All seats
1. Remove the cushion cover. For additional information, refer to Seat Cushion Cover - Front Seat Cushion Cover - Front.
2. For driver seat, remove the wire harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wire harness retainers.
3. For passenger seat, remove the wire harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wire harness retainers.
4. Remove the seat track. For additional information, refer to Seat Track - Bucket and 40 Percent Seat Track - Bucket and 40 Percent.
5. Detach the pin-type retainer and remove the backrest latch release cable.
- Note the cable routing for correct installation.
Driver seat
6. Remove the cushion foam pad.
7. Remove the 2 screws and seat position sensor.
Passenger seat
8. Release the 2 wire harness retainers from the seat cushion frame.
- Note the wire harness routing for correct installation.

10. Remove the OCSM.
1. Remove the 2 screws.
2. Release the bracket retainer and slide the OCSM off the bracket.
11. NOTICE: A production Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) bladder is shown. An OCS service kit will have the OCS bladder attached to the seat cushion foam pad. Do not separate the OCS bladder from the seat cushion foam pad. Failure to do so can result in component failure.
Release the 3 OCS bladder pin-type retainers from the seat cushion frame.
12. Remove the OCS system components routing the hose, pressure sensor, OCSM and wire harness through the opening in the cushion frame.
- Note the wire harness routing for correct installation.
Assembly
Passenger seat
1. NOTICE: Inspect the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) assembly, seat cushion frame and support assembly for any foreign objects before installing the OCS assembly to the seat cushion frame. If any foreign objects are found, remove them. Failure to follow these instructions may result in incorrect OCS system operation or failure.
NOTICE: While positioning the seat cushion frame and Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) assembly, be careful not to damage any of the components. Failure to do so can result in component failure.
NOTICE: Failure to route the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system components through the correct seat cushion support opening can cause component failure.
Install the OCS system components to the seat cushion frame.
- Correctly route the hose, pressure sensor, OCSM and seat wire harness through the opening in the cushion frame as noted during removal.
2. Install the 3 OCS bladder pin-type retainers to the seat cushion frame.
3. Install the OCSM.
- Slide the OCSM back on the bracket until it is fully seated and locked in place.
- Install the 2 screws.
4. Slide the pressure sensor on the bracket until it is fully seated and locked in place.
5. Install the 4 seat wire harness retainers to the seat cushion frame.
Driver seat
