Pinpoint Test D: The Illuminated Entry Is Inoperative When Using The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter

Normal Operation

The illuminated entry provides interior lighting when the Smart Junction Box (SJB) receives an UNLOCK request from the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. When the SJB receives the RKE signal, it activates the interior lamp relay (internal to the SJB) and applies voltage to the interior lamp.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- RKE system
- SJB



PINPOINT TEST D: THE ILLUMINATED ENTRY IS INOPERATIVE WHEN USING THE RKE TRANSMITTER

D1 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION USING THE RKE TRANSMITTER


- Unlock and lock the doors using the RKE transmitter.
- Do the vehicle doors unlock and lock using the RKE transmitter?

Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test A. Pinpoint Test A: The Interior Lamp Is Inoperative

No
REFER to Doors, Hood and Trunk &/or Locks to continue diagnosis of the RKE system.
