Fuel Lines

Removal and Installation

All vehicles

1. Remove the fuel tank. For additional information, refer to Fuel Tank Fuel Tank.

Vehicles with 4.0L engine

2. Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle &/or Transmission Control Systems or Manual Transmission/Transaxle.

Vehicles with 2.3L engine

3. Disconnect the fuel supply tube-to-fuel rail supply tube spring lock coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.





Vehicles with 4.0L engine

4. Disconnect the fuel supply tube-to-fuel rail spring lock coupling and disconnect the fuel supply tube from the bracket. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.





All vehicles

5. Disconnect the front fuel tank vapor tube-to-Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

6. Disconnect the fuel tubes-to-fuel filter quick connect couplings. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

7. Disconnect the front fuel tank vapor tube-to-rear fuel tank vapor tube and Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor assembly quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

Vehicles with 2.3L engine

8. Disconnect the wiring harness pin-type retainers from the fuel and vapor tube-to-rear transmission bracket, center of transmission housing, and fuel and vapor tube-to-transmission bellhousing bracket.

9. Disconnect the fuel supply tube and front fuel tank vapor tube from the fuel and vapor tube-to-rear transmission bracket, and the fuel and vapor tube-to-transmission bellhousing bracket.

All vehicles

10. Remove the fuel supply tube and the front fuel tank vapor tube from the vehicle.

11. Disconnect the rear fuel tank vapor tube and FTP sensor assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

12. Disconnect the FTP sensor electrical connector.

13. Disconnect the fuel supply tube, fuel return tube, and rear fuel tank vapor tube and FTP sensor assembly from the frame clips and remove from the vehicle.

14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
