Transmission Description

This transmission has:

- five forward speeds.
- electronic shift, pressure and Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) controls.
- three planetary gearsets.
- three bands.
- three multi-plate clutches.
- two One-Way Clutch (OWC).

All hydraulic functions are directed by electronic solenoids to control:

- engagement feel.
- shift feel.
- shift scheduling.
- modulated TCC applications.
- timing of the 3-2 torque demand and kickdown shifts.
- engine braking (with Overdrive (O/D) cancelled) utilizing the coast clutch.
- manual 1st timing.
