Pinpoint Test D: The Accessory Relay Does Not Turn Off

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

Under normal operation, voltage is supplied to the accessory relay coil and switch internally through the Smart Junction Box (SJB). Ground for the accessory relay is provided internally through the SJB. When the relay is energized, voltage is sent to the power window switches through circuit CPW30 (GY/YE) or CPW14 (VT/WH).

- DTC B1302 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Failure) - Sets when an open or short to ground is detected on the relay control circuit.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Accessory relay
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- SJB

D1 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Actuate the power windows.
- Do the power windows operate?

Yes
REPAIR CPW30 (GY/YE) or CPW14 (VT/WH) for a short to voltage. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
CARRY OUT the accessory delay relay component test.
If the relay tests OK, INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to Body Control Systems. TEST the system for normal operation.
