Seat Cushion Cover - Rear, Bench
Removal and Installation
NOTE: For parts identification and locations, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Rear, Bench Seat - Exploded View, Rear, Bench.
1. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
If equipped, insert an appropriate tool and release the detachable safety belt anchor(s) from the seat.
2. NOTE: The seat mounting latches are serviced as part of the bench seat risers. If either seat mounting latch is damaged and cannot be released, remove the seat latch striker with the seat attached. For additional information, refer to Seat Latch Striker - Rear, Bench Seat Latch Striker - Rear, Bench.
Pull the 2 seat latch release straps and remove the rear seat.
3. Remove the 10 bolts and 2 risers from the seat cushion frame.
- To install, tighten to 51 Nm (38 lb-ft).
4. If equipped, remove the bolt and detachable safety belt anchor.
- To install, tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).
5. Release all the backrest cover rear J-clips and remove the inner cardboard panel from the backrest.
6. Release the cushion cover rear J-clips and access the safety belt retractor anchor bolt.
7. Remove the center safety belt anchor bolt(s) and route the safety belt anchor(s) through the seat cushion opening.
- To install, tighten to 75 Nm (55 lb-ft).
8. Release the 2 cushion cover J-clips at the rear corners.
9. Release all the remaining cushion cover J-clips.
10. Remove the 2 backrest-to-cushion rear bolts.
- If 4-passenger bench seat, remove the 4 backrest-to-cushion rear bolts.
- To install, tighten to 51 Nm (38 lb-ft).
11. Access and remove the 4 backrest-to-cushion outboard bolts.
- To install, tighten to 75 Nm (55 lb-ft).
12. Separate the cushion and backrest frames.
13. Invert the cushion cover to the row of retainers.
14. NOTICE: Use care not to tear the foam pad when releasing the cushion cover retainers.
Separate the row of retainers and remove the cushion cover.
- Route the safety belt buckle through the cushion cover opening.
15. NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
