Pinpoint Test D: The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
The accessory delay relay is located in the Smart Junction Box (SJB). When the ignition key is turned ON, the SJB activates the accessory delay relay, which provides power to the LH window switch through circuit CBP47 (GN/BU). The delayed accessory feature remains active for 10 minutes after the ignition key is turned OFF or until either front door is opened.
- DTC B1302 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Failure) - Sets when an open or short to ground is detected on the relay control circuit.
- DTC B1304 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Short to Battery) - Sets when a short to voltage is detected on the relay control circuit.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Circuit breaker
- Accessory delay relay
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- SJB
PINPOINT TEST D: THE DELAYED ACCESSORY IS INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
D1 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH OPERATION
- Open and close the front doors. Verify the interior lights turn on when the doors are open and off when the doors are closed.
- Do the interior lights operate normally?
Yes
GO to D2.
No
REFER to Interior Lighting Testing and Inspection to diagnose the interior lighting and door ajar switches.
-------------------------------------------------
D2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.
Refer to Accessory Delay Relay for component testing.
- Did the delayed accessory relay pass the component test?
Yes
VERIFY SJB circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, GO to D3.
If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. TEST the system for normal operation. Diagrams By Number
No
INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
D3 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU) FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
- Disconnect: LH Window Control Switch C504.
- Measure the resistance between SJB C2280D-32, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and LH window control switch C504-7, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D4.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
D4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Disconnect all SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new SJB. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
