Bumper Rust Prevention - Front, Chrome
1. If equipped, remove the license plate bracket.
2. Remove the front bumper. For additional information, refer to Bumper - Front Removal and Replacement.
3. Clean excessive dirt from an area of 2'' (50 mm) around the center vent on the inside of the bumper.
4. NOTE: Use protective gloves when applying the Motorcraft Custom Bright Metal Cleaner.
Clean the red rust stains from the inside edges of the center vent opening with Motorcraft Custom Bright Metal Cleaner.
5. Apply masking tape around the center vent opening on the outside chrome part of the front bumper allowing for a 1 inch overhang into the opening.
6. NOTE: Use protective gloves when applying the anti-corrosion coating.
Using a foam brush, paint the edge of the center vent opening and at least 1'' (25 mm) around the inside of the front bumper with the Motorcraft Anti-Corrosion Coating.
7. Remove the masking tape around the center vent opening.
8. Install the front bumper. For additional information, refer to Bumper - Front Removal and Replacement.
9. If equipped, install the license plate bracket.
