Body and Frame: Description and Operation

Body

WARNING:

The body consists of the following:
- Cab-forward design
- Full frame bolted to the body
- Aluminum hood
- Body side outer panel constructed of dent resistant High-Strength Steel (HSS) and mild steels
- Magnesium radiator support
- Front structure inner reinforcement is hydroformed High-Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) rail assembly
- Lightweight steel welded panel construction
- Extensive use of HSLA, Dual Phase Steel (DP) and Boron steel in the cab body structure(s)
- Dash panel constructed of laminated sound/vibration steel
- Bolted, removable front fenders, hinged doors, tailgate and hood
- Fender outer panels constructed of dent resistant HSS steel
- Front and rear door outer panels constructed of dent resistant HSS steel
- Structural adhesive used throughout the body shell and underbody
- Regular cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew cab styles
- Styleside pickup bed available with 1.67 m (5.5 ft), 1.98 m (6.5 ft) and 2.44 m (8.0 ft) pickup bed length
- 3,198 mm (126 in) wheelbase
- 3,365 mm (133 in) wheelbase
- 3,671 mm (145 in) wheelbase
- 3,988 mm (157 in) wheelbase
- 4,140 mm (163 in) wheelbase
