MAINTENANCE MONITOR - SERVICE INTERVAL LIGHT RESETTING PROCEDURE

FORD: 1989 PROBE

ISSUE: The service interval indicator light on the vehicle maintenance monitor (VMM) comes on at about 7500 mile intervals. After the scheduled maintenance has been performed, the VMM must be reset to turn off the service interval indicator light.

FIGURE 12:

ACTION: Reset the VMM by using a small pointed instrument, such as a small screwdriver or a ball point pen. Insert the pointed instrument and depress the service interval cancel switch one time only. Refer to Figure 12 for the location of the service interval cancel switch.
