EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: EGR components transport hot exhaust gases. Contact with hot EGR components may cause severe burns. Wear protective gloves or allow the vehicle sufficient time to cool.

1. Loosen EGR tube retaining nuts between EGR valve and exhaust manifold, and remove EGR tube.
2. Remove the EGR valve from the intake manifold, and discard gasket.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the EGR valve to the intake manifold with a new gasket. Torque the mounting screws to 18-26 Nm (13-19 lb-ft).
2. Install the EGR valve tube between the EGR valve and exhaust manifold. Torque the tube retaining nuts to 34-47 Nm (25-35 lb-ft).
