Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Conditions requiring belt replacement are excessive wear, rib chunk-out, severe glazing and frayed cords. Replace any belt exhibiting one of these conditions. Cracks on the rib side of a belt are considered acceptable.
If the belt has chunks missing from the ribs it should be replaced. If two or more adjacent ribs have lost sections a 1/2 inch or longer, or if the missing chunks are creating a noise or vibration condition. Replace the belt.
