Emissions Recall 92E23 - Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal Replacement on Certain 1992-Model California 5.0L Engine Equipped Mustangs


AFFECTED VEHICLES 1992-Model California Mustangs equipped with 5.0L
engines having calibration codes 9-21A-R00, 9-21CR00 and 9-22A-R00, manufactured at the Dearborn Assembly Plant from 8/19/91 through 9/13/91.

REASONS FOR RECALL The Vehicle Emission Control Information
Decals installed on some of the affected vehicles may not have the correct emissions compliance statement and bar code information. The California Department of Motor Vehicles and Air Resources Board require that decals with the correct information be attached to vehicles.

SERVICE ACTION Owners of the affected vehicles will be mailed
corrected decals with instructions to attach decals to their vehicles. They will be given the option to have a dealer install the decal.

Contact your FPSD District office if additional decals are required. Refer to Attachment II, for the part number of the decal required for these vehicles.
