Vacuum Restrictor: Description and Operation

Vacuum Delay Valve:

PURPOSE
Allows gradual delay of vacuum applied to distributor retard diaphragm during sudden deceleration. This prevents erratic changes in spark timing on transitions from deceleration to sudden acceleration.

LOCATION
In vacuum line between fitting at left end of intake manifold and distributor vacuum diaphragm.
