Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Discharge the A/C system system into an approved recovery device.
2. Remove the A/C compressor suction manifold and tube bolt and the A/C compressor suction manifold and tube nut.
3. Disconnect the spring lock coupling.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Remove the nine bolts and the two engine and transmission splash shields.
6. Remove the two lower manifold bolts and the A/C compressor suction manifold and tube.
7. Remove and discard the two 0-rings from the A/C compressor suction manifold and tube.
INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the above procedure.
^ Install new 0-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant oil on the manifold.
^ Tighten the manifold bolts to 18-23 N.m (13-17 lb-ft).
