REMOVAL1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the two exhaust inlet pipe-to-three way catalytic converter nuts. Discard the exhaust inlet pipe-to-three way catalytic converter nuts.
NOTE: When removing exhaust components from the vehicle, it may be necessary to use an oxygen/acetylene torch to heat the nuts, due to the build up of oxidation.
3. Remove the exhaust converter outlet gasket and discard it.
4. Remove the two three way catalytic converter-to-muffler inlet pipe and resonator nuts. Discard the three way catalytic converter-to-muffler inlet pipe and resonator nuts.
5. Remove the exhaust converter outlet gasket and discard it.
6. Remove the three way catalytic converter.
INSTALLATION
1. Inspect the TWC for deterioration and restriction. If necessary, replace the TWC.
2. Place the TWC into its mounting position.
3. Install a new exhaust converter outlet gasket between the TWC and the muffler inlet pipe and resonator.
4. Install new three way catalytic converter-to-muffler inlet pipe and resonator nuts. Tighten the three way catalytic converter-to-muffler inlet pipe and resonator nuts to 64-89 Nm (47-66 lb ft).
5. Install a new gasket between the TWC and the exhaust inlet pipe.
6. Install new muffler inlet pipe-to-three way catalytic converter nuts. Tighten the exhaust inlet pipe to three way catalytic converter nuts to 64-89 Nm (47-66 lb ft).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks.
