ISSUE:
Some vehicles may experience coil cut-out when reaching speed limiter and then returning to a vehicle speed below the limiter. This condition may set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354 or P1351.
ACTION:
Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The revised calibration will turn the coil packs back on when the vehicle speed is below the limiter and reduce the possibility of DTCs being set. Refer to the PCM Application Chart for the correct calibration to use.
Obtain an Authorized Modification Decal (FPS 8262 - obtainable through DOES II, 25/pkg) and list the date, dealer number, and summary of modifications performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications Decal. Clean the area, install the decal, and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
