Pinpoint Test D - One Touch Down Feature Inoperative

NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to perform the following pinpoint test without the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) tester 007-00500 or equivalent.

D1 - Test One Touch Down

- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Press driver window down switch for less than 480 milliseconds.

Does driver window move all the way down?

YES GO to D5.
NO GO to D2.

D2 - Test Window Power To Driver Door Module

- Connect Rotunda New Generation Star Tester 007~00500 or equivalent to data link connector.
- Put ignition switch in RUN.
- Request driver door module ignition switch status PID_ IGN_DD.

Does ignition switch status PID indicate Accessory?

YES GO to D3.
NO SERVICE window power circuit 400 (LB/BK) to driver door module for open circuit. RETEST system.

D3 - Test Driver Door Module Logic Ground

- Turn ignition switch OFF. Disconnect battery.
- Disconnect connector C1 from driver door module.
- Test continuity from pin C1-15 to ground.

Is there continuity?

YES RECONNECT module and battery. GO to D4.
NO SERVICE driver door module logic ground circuit 57 (BK). RETEST system.

D4 - Test Window Operation For Sticking

- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Run driver window up and down several times and observe motion of window.

Does window move smoothly, without jerking or sticking?

YES REPLACE driver door module. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE window mechanism. MAKE SURE that nothing is blocking the path of the window. RETEST system.

D5 - Test Cancel With Up Switch

- Run window up.
- Press window down switch for less than 480 milliseconds.
- While window is in motion, press driver window up switch

Does window motion stop?

YES System operating normally.
NO GO to D6.

D6 - Test Window Up Switch Input To Driver Door Module

- Connect Rotunda New Generation Star Tester 007-00500 or equivalent to data link connector.
- While holding driver window up switch, request driver door module window switch status PID LFPW_SW.

Does PID indicate driver window switch up?

YES REPLACE driver window motor drive. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE driver window up switch input circuit 408 (T/R) to module. RETEST system.
