This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Ford Motor Company has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1995-96 Windstar and 1994-96 Mustangs.

SAFETY DEFECT
Certain low speed accidents which do not result in visible damage to the outer hood may cause damage to the adhesive bond between the inner and outer hood panels of your vehicle. Driving at highway speed after such an impact may result in an open gap at the leading edge of the hood. The air forced between the inner and outer panels at this gap can produce enough pressure that in some cases may result in total separation between the inner and outer hood panels.

REPAIRS
At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect your vehicle's hood for adhesive bond damage. If the bond is not damaged, the bond area between the hood panels will be cleaned and a reinforcing adhesive applied. If any part of the hood panels is separated, the hood may be replaced with a new hood assembly. Dealers currently have instructions and parts ordering information.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The time needed for this service is less than one day. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicle for a longer period. Please call your dealer for a service date.
