Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. Perform fuel charging system pre-service procedures and fuel pressure release. Pre-Service Procedures
2. Remove fuel injection supply manifold.
3. Carefully remove fuel charging wiring from individual fuel injectors from individual fuel injectors at the connectors.
Fuel Injector:
4. Remove fuel injectors from the fuel injection supply manifold by grasping fuel injector body and pulling up while gently rocking fuel injector from side to side.
5. Inspect fuel injector O-rings (two per injector) for signs of deterioration.
6. Inspect fuel injector end cap, body and washer for signs of dirt and deterioration.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Never use silicone grease. Silicone grease will clog the fuel injectors.
1. Lubricate new fuel injector O-rings with clean engine oil, preferably 10W30.
2. Install fuel injectors into fuel injection supply manifold using a light, twisting-pushing motion.
3. Install fuel injection supply manifold.
4. Connect fuel charging wiring to fuel injectors.
5. Perform fuel charging system post-service. Post-Service Procedures
