Seat Belt Systems: Description and Operation

Safety Belt System
- A continuous loop, single retractor restraint system is used on coupe vehicles. A dual retractor system is used on convertible vehicles.

- The lap and shoulder safety belts are factory installed in their proper locations. If lap or shoulder safety belts are removed for any reason, they should be installed. Tighten the anchor bolts to 30-40 N.m (23-29 lb ft).

Warning System, Safety Belt
- The warning light and chime remind you to fasten your safety belt. The following conditions will take place:

- If safety belt is not buckled when the key is turned to the ON position, the light and chime will turn on for four to eight seconds.

- If safety belt is buckled while the light is on and the chime is sounding, both the light and chime turn off.
