Front

1. Raise and support vehicle, allowing front suspension lower arms to hang free.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove front disc brake caliper, then wire it aside.
4. Remove front disc brake rotor and front disc brake rotor shield.
5. Disconnect front wheel spindle connecting rod or end assembly from front wheel spindle using tie rod end remover 3290-D, or equivalent.
6. Remove steering gear bolts and position gear so front suspension lower arm bolt may be removed.
7. Disconnect front stabilizer link from front suspension lower arm.
8. Loosen ball joint nut one or two turns, then tap spindle boss sharply to relieve stud pressure. Do not remove ball joint nut at this time.
11. Using a suitable spring compressor, install compression rod into front suspension lower arm spring pocket hole, through front coil spring, into upper plate.
12. Install lower plate, lower ball nut, thrust washer and bearing and forcing nut onto compression rod, then tighten forcing nut until drag on nut is felt.
13. Remove and discard ball joint stud nut and raise entire front shock absorber and front wheel spindle assembly. Wire aside to obtain working room.
14. Remove and discard front suspension lower arm to crossmember nuts and bolts. Compressor tool forcing nut may need to be tightened or loosened for easy bolt removal.
15. Loosen compression rod forcing nut until spring tension is relieved, then remove forcing nut, front suspension lower arm and front coil spring.
16. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
17. Ensure spring pigtail is positioned between two holes in front suspension lower arm pocket.
18. Check front wheel alignment and adjust if out of specifications.
