Service Procedure
1. Remove FEAD belt and discard.2. Verify that the vehicle has the new flanged water pump pulley installed (Figure 1). If raised flange pulley is not installed, remove and discard water pump pulley. Install new Water Pump Pulley (F6ZZ-8509-AA) and torque bolts to 20-30 N.m (15-22 lb-ft).
NOTE
THE POWER STEERING PULLEY MUST BE PRESSED ON 0.67 mm PAST THE END OF THE SHAFT (FIGURE 2).
3. Verity that the vehicle has the new power steering pulley installed (Figure 3). If raised flange pulley is not installed, remove and discard the power steering pulley. Install new Power Steering Pulley (F7ZZ-3A733-AA).
4. On the bottom of the power steering pump there is a power steering line orientation clip that is mounted with a single fastener. Remove and discard the clip. Install the replacement Power Steering Orientation Clip (F7ZZ-3E523-AA).
5. Locate the automatic belt tensioner. If a tensioner positive stop is installed over the tensioner and the part number stamped on the bottom of the positive stop is F7ZE-19A439-AB, remove and discard the positive stop and belt tensioner.
6. If the positive tensioner stop was not installed on the vehicle, remove the three (3) fasteners that mount the automatic belt tensioner. Retain the nut. Discard the tensioner, belt guide and both bolts (Figure 4).
7. Install the new steel Tensioner (F8ZZ-6B209-BA) using one (1) existing stud and two (2) new Studs (N807336-S2) (Figure 5). Torque the studs and nuts to 20-30 N.m (15-22 lb-ft).
8. Install a new FEAD Belt (F8AZ-8620-AA).
9. Install the Tensioner Positive Stop (F7ZZ-19A439-AC) onto the two (2) studs that mount the tensioner (Figure 5). Fasten the stop bracket with two (2) Nuts (N804178-S309). Torque the nuts to 20-30 N.m (15-22 lb-ft).
