Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. From inside vehicle, remove gearshift lever boot and console lever plate, then remove gear shift lever bolts then lever from transmission.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Mark driveshaft coupling for later assembly, then remove driveshaft. Install suitable driveshaft replacer into transmission to prevent fluid loss.
5. Remove dual converter H pipe.
6. Remove clutch lever dust shield, then disconnect clutch cable.
7. Disconnect connectors from transmission switches.
8. Support transmission with a suitable jack.
9. Remove rear transmission support from transmission, then vehicle.
10. Remove starter.
11. Place a suitable adjustable jack under front of engine to support engine when transmission is removed.
12. Remove clutch housing to engine bolts.
13. Move transmission back to clear transmission shaft from clutch, then lower transmission from vehicle. It may be necessary to elevate front of engine for transmission to clear body.
INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedures to install.
