Timing Components: Adjustments

Camshaft Timing

1. Remove the engine front covers (6019).

2. Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley bolt (6A340).

3. Turn the crankshafi (6303) clockwise until the No.1 piston (6108) is at TDC on the compression stroke.

4. Verify that the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket (6306) lines up with the timing mark on the oil pump (6600) and the camshaft sprocket timing marks (E and I) line up on the camshafi sprockets (6256).






5. If the timing marks are not aligned properly, remove the timing chain/belt (6268), properly align the timing mark and install the timing chain/belt.

6. Install the Engine Front Covers.
