Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

Fuel Pump:

The fuel pump and bracket is mounted inside the fuel tank. The fuel pump includes a check valve located at the fuel pump outlet. This valve maintains pressure in the system after the vehicle is turned OFF. This pressure retention helps to prevent starting difficulties when the engine is hot. A pressure relief valve is provided to regulate the maximum fuel pump outlet pressure. The fuel pump is protected at its inlet by a fuel pump filter which removes dirt and contaminants that could plug or damage the internal fuel pump components.
