Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

1. Connect the Rotunda 104-Pin Breakout Box 014-00950 or equivalent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Rotate the throttle linkage by hand and observe the voltage readings.

NOTE: Using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent, measure the voltage between Breakout Box pin 89 and ground.

4. With the throttle valve fully closed, the voltage must measure 0.5 volts.
5. With the throttle valve fully open, the voltage must measure 4.1 volts.
6. If the voltage is not within specifications, adjust the Throttle Position (TP) sensor as follows:
a. Loosen the TP sensor set screws.
b. With the throttle valve closed rotate the TP sensor until the voltage is 0.1-1.1 volts.
c. With the throttle valve fully open, verify the voltage is 3.1-4.4 volts.
d. Tighten the TP sensor set screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
