Automatic Transmission

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the battery and the battery tray.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.






4. Support the engine with Three-Bar Engine Support 014-00750 or equivalent.
5. Remove the three speed control servo nuts and position servo out of the way.
6. Remove the two fuel filter bracket nuts.
7. Remove the LH engine support insulator through bolt.
8. Slightly lower the engine and transaxle assembly.
9. Raise and support the vehicle.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
11. Remove the VSS bolt.






12. Rotate the VSS 180 degrees and remove from the transaxle.
13. Inspect the VSS O-rings for nicks and cuts. Replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the VSS bolt to 5-6 Nm (44-53 lb in).
