Removal and Installation






Steering Column (Part 1 Of 1):




Steering Column (Part 2 Of 2):





1. Ensure wheels are in straight ahead position.
2. Remove steering wheel.

Securing Airbag Clockspring:





3. Apply two strips of tape across clockspring and housing to prevent accidental rotation.
4. Remove three clockspring assembly screws and pull clockspring assembly off steering column shaft.
5. Remove clockspring ground wire screw, then disconnect clockspring electrical connector and remove clockspring assembly.
6. Remove combination switch.
7. Remove hood release cable from lower instrument panel cover.
8. Remove lower instrument panel screw, then disconnect courtesy lamp electrical connector.
9. Remove lower instrument panel.
10. Disconnect all necessary electrical connectors.
11. On models equipped with automatic transaxle, disconnect shift lock cable.
12. Remove intermediate shaft bolt, two lower column bracket nuts, then the two upper column bracket bolts.
13. Remove steering column from vehicle.
14. Reverse procedure to install.
