Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the wiper and washer systems.2. Visually inspect the components of the systems:
Mechanical
- Binding wiper pivot arms.
- Damaged wiper motor.
Electrical
- Blown fuse:
+ 20 A WIPER.
- Loose or corroded connectors.
- wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft improperly connected to wiper motor.
- Low washer fluid level.
- Plugged or damaged washer hoses and/or washer nozzle jet.
3. Check the windshield wiper pivot arms for proper adjustment and proper connection to the windshield wiper motor output arm.
4. Check washer hoses for proper routing and connections.
5. Inspect the wiper or washer system wiring harnesses and connectors for obvious signs of damage.
6. If the fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
