Assembly
Install New Piston Seal:
1. Lubricate a new piston seal with Ford High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AA or DOT 3 equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A and install the seal in the front disc brake caliper groove. Lubricate the front disc brake caliper bore and the front disc brake caliper piston with Ford High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AA or DOT 3 equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25~A. Be sure the seal does not become twisted and that it is firmly seated in the front disc brake caliper bore.
2. Install the dust boot on the front disc brake caliper piston and slide the dust boot into its groove.
Install Caliper Piston:
3. Install the front disc brake caliper piston in the front disc brake caliper bore and push it down into the bottom of the bore with a gentle rocking motion.
4. Slide the dust cover over the boss on the front disc brake caliper bore.
5. Install the front caliper sleeve and the guide pin dust boots.
6. Install the front disc brake caliper on the front disc brake caliper anchor bracket.
7. Install the brake caliper bolts. Tighten the brake caliper bolt to 44-49 N.m (33-36 lb-ft).
8. Bleed the front brakes either manually or with Rotunda Brake Bleeder 104-00064 or equivalent. Refer to Brake Bleeding.
9. Pump the brake pedal several times to seat the pads.
10. Correct the level of brake fluid in the brake master cylinder.
11. With the car in neutral, spin each front disc brake rotor to make sure the brakes are not dragging.
12. Install the wheel and tire assemblies. Tighten the lug nuts to 88-118 N.m (65-87 lb-ft).
