Inspection

1. Before installing the front disc brake caliper, remove the brake caliper bolt dust boots.
2. Lubricate the brake caliper bolt dust boots with Disc Brake Caliper Slide Grease D7AZ-19590-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C172-A and install them in the front disc brake caliper.

3. Position the front disc brake caliper onto the guide pin. Pivot the front disc brake caliper onto the brake shoes and linings.

NOTE: To provide the necessary clearance, it may be necessary to pull slightly outward on the front disc brake caliper.

Brake Caliper Bolt:





4. Install the brake caliper bolt and tighten to 44-49 N.m (33-36 lb ft).
5. Install two new copper washers and the banjo bolt on the front brake hose banjo fitting.
6. Position the front brake hose on the front disc brake caliper and tighten the banjo bolt to 22-29 N.m (16-22 lb-ft).
7. Bleed the front brakes either manually or with Rotunda Brake Bleeder 104-00064 or equivalent. Refer to Brake Bleeding.
8. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 88-118 N.m (65-87 lb-ft).
9. Lower the vehicle.
