Ignition Switch: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.Fig. 3 Ignition Switch Removal:
2. Remove lower instrument panel steering column cover.
3. Turn ignition lock to RUN position.
4. Disconnect ignition switch electrical connector.
5. Remove two ignition switch retaining screws, then the ignition switch.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure ignition lock is in RUN position when installing ignition switch.
b. Torque ignition switch retaining screws to 50-69 in lb.
c. Inspect ignition switch for proper function, including the START and ACCESSORY positions.
