Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge Service Program, Number 92B10, to owners of certain 1992 Taurus Police Package vehicles.
Reason For This Program
A number of 1992 Taurus Police package vehicles were inadvertently produced with the 72AM Motorcraft Battery (BXT-65-650) rather than the 84AH Motorcraft Battery (BXT 65-850) listed in the Ford Specifications Guide.
No Cost Service. At no cost to you, your Ford dealer will inspect your 1992 Taurus Police car for the correct battery installation. If the 72AH Motorcraft battery (BXT-65-650) was originally installed, the dealer will replace the battery with the correct 84AH Motorcraft battery (BXT-65-850).
How Long Will It Take?
The time needed for this service is less than one hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.
Call Your Dealer
Ask for a service date and if the 84AH battery is in stock.
If your dealer does not have the battery in stock, it can be ordered before scheduling your service date.
When you bring your car in, give the dealer this letter.
If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.
We are taking this action as part of our ongoing efforts to maintain owner confidence in our products. We hope this program will confirm your continued satisfaction in your Ford built Taurus.
