Coupler Types and Features

Steel Fittings

This fitting consists of a body, spacers, O-rings and a retaining clip. The clip locks the fitting to its mating tube juncture.

Hair Pin Clip:






Hairpin Clip Fittings
Push connect fittings are designed with a retaining clip. The fittings used with 9.5 mm and 7.9 mm (3/8 and 5/16 inch) diameter tubing use a hairpin clip. Clips should be replaced whenever a connector is removed.






Duck Bill Clip Fittings
This fitting consists of a body, spacers, O-rings and a duck-bill retaining clip. The clip maintains the fitting to steel tube juncture.






Spring Lock Couplings

- are used on all vehicles to connect the fuel and vapor return tubes to the fuel injection supply manifold at the engine.

- use special, methanol- or ethanol-compatible 0-rings on flexible fuel vehicles.

- require Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool D87L-9280-A or D87L-9280-B or equivalent to remove and install.

- have a redundant horseshoe shaped retaining clip/tether to improve retaining reliability.
