LABOR ALLOWANCES
NOTE:
Dealers may receive labor adjustments for claims filed at the original labor allowances by using the warranty claims appeal procedure described in Section 8 of the ACES II User Manual.
Please follow the technical instructions on Attachment III. By following these instructions, the labor times are achievable. To assist technicians a video presentation highlighting the key steps of the repair was sent to all dealers in February 2000. For additional copies contact the Recall Hotline at 1-800-325-5621.
PARTS REQUIREMENTS
FRONT COVER DAMAGE
Care must be taken when removing the front cover to avoid damage (see cautions listed in Attachment III). If damage does occur, a new front cover has been released, F75Z-6019-AA. The new front cover comes without the oil pump. The oil pump from the damaged front cover must be transferred to the new front cover. CLEANLINESS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT when transferring the oil pump from a damaged front cover to the new front cover.

EXCESS STOCK RETURN
Excess stock returned for credit must have been purchased from Ford Customer Service Division in accordance with Policy Procedure Bulletin 4000.
TOOL ALLOWANCE
A tool allowance of $6.00 per vehicle is being given to purchase 3M(TM) ROLOC(TM) bristle discs or equivalent for use in removing the old engine front cover gasket. If these disks are purchased and used, claim this allowance by entering the following:
NOTE:
Do not use products like Scotchbrite(TM) pads or other fiber abrasives to remove this gasket. Fibers from these types of products can block the oil pressure relief valve possibly causing engine failure. Roloc(TM) bristle discs can be obtained from your local 3M(TM) distributor. If you have trouble locating the discs, call 3M(TM) at 1-800-521-8180 extension 5165 in the United States or in Canada call 1-800-265-1840 and ask for Auto Market Distribution. They can locate distributors by zip code.
