CLIMATE CONTROL ASSEMBLY
All vehicles equipped with air conditioning have a common climate control assembly, containing:
^ Recirc-fresh air control lever
^ Temperature control lever
^ Air flow control lever
^ Heater blower motor switch
^ A/C switch
When the A/C switch is depressed, an indicator bulb on the A/C switch illuminates indicating that the A/C system is operating. Before the A/C system will operate, the heater blower motor switch must be turned to any of the three (1, 2, 3) ON positions.
AIR FLOW CONTROL
Air enters the system through an air inlet duct. The position of the recirc-fresh air control lever determines if the incoming air is fresh or recirculated air. The recirculation mode is used to rapidly heat or cool the passenger compartment on initial operation.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The temperature control lever is connected by a temperature control cable to the temperature control door in the heater unit.
The position of the temperature control lever controls the temperature of the heating, defrosting and A/C system (if equipped) between cool on the left side and warm on the right side.
BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL
This heater blower motor switch determines the speed at which the blower motor operates. Each position of the heater blower motor switch is detented for positive engagement of each speed.
